Telehealth-Based Diabetes Education: Outcomes from a Randomized Trial
Abstract
Telehealth platforms are increasingly utilized for diabetes education and support. In a randomized controlled trial of 400 adults with type 2 diabetes, structured telehealth education improved HbA1c by 0.8 percentage points versus standard care at six months. Participants reported higher treatment satisfaction and reduced diabetes distress. Benefits were consistent across age, sex, and baseline digital literacy strata. These results support integrating structured telehealth programs into routine diabetes management, particularly in resource-limited settings. Most read articles by the same author(s)
