Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Journal of Current Diabetes Reports

1. Scope of the Journal

Journal of Current Diabetes Reports publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed articles covering all aspects of diabetes and metabolic research, including pathophysiology, diagnostics, clinical management, lifestyle interventions, complications, and public health perspectives.

We welcome the following article types:

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles (systematic, narrative, and scoping)

  • Meta-analyses

  • Short Communications

  • Case Reports

  • Editorials and Commentaries

2. Open Access Policy

This journal is fully open access. All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. Authors retain copyright.

3. Ethical Standards

Authors must adhere to the following:

  • Human and Animal Ethics: Research involving human participants must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki. Animal studies must follow CPCSEA/ARRIVE guidelines (or equivalent). Ethics approval and informed consent must be clearly stated.

  • Conflict of Interest: All authors must disclose financial or non-financial conflicts of interest.

  • Funding Disclosure: Sources of financial support must be declared.

  • Plagiarism Policy: Manuscripts will be screened with plagiarism detection software. Submissions with plagiarism >10% (excluding references) will be rejected.

4. Manuscript Preparation

Language: English (clear and concise).

File Format: Microsoft Word (.docx) or LaTeX.

Structure for Original Research Articles:

  • Title Page (title, authors, affiliations, ORCID IDs, corresponding author email)

  • Abstract (250–300 words; structured: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion)

  • Keywords (5–6)

  • Introduction

  • Materials and Methods

  • Results

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion

  • Acknowledgments

  • Conflict of Interest / Funding Statement

  • References (Vancouver style)

Tables & Figures: Must be numbered consecutively, with descriptive legends. Figures should be high resolution (300 dpi).

5. References

Follow Vancouver Style. Include DOI numbers where available. Example:

6. Peer Review Policy

  • All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.

  • The editorial board makes final decisions.

  • The typical review period is 4–6 weeks.

7. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

  • Waivers may be granted for authors from low- and middle-income countries.

8. Submission Process

Manuscripts should be submitted via the online submission system [insert link] or emailed to the editorial office at [insert email].

9. Archiving & Indexing

The journal ensures digital preservation through [PKP PN/LOCKSS/Portico].
