Abstract

Omega‑3 fatty acids have been investigated for metabolic benefits. In a randomized controlled trial involving 200 overweight adults with insulin resistance, daily omega‑3 supplementation for 24 weeks significantly reduced HOMA‑IR scores and improved lipid profiles. These results support omega‑3 fatty acids as an adjunct to lifestyle therapy in managing insulin resistance and preventing type 2 diabetes progression.
