Abstract

Young adults with type 1 diabetes (T1D) increasingly present with nontraditional complications intersecting with mental health and lifestyle. Atypical entities include sarcopenia, autoimmune overlaps, eating-disorder-related instability, infection risks, and sleep apnea in normal-BMI phenotypes. Multidisciplinary care and digital phenotyping are emphasized as future priorities.
