Abstract

Wearable biosensors capable of continuously tracking electrodermal activity and heart rate variability may provide non-invasive hypoglycemia detection in children with type 1 diabetes. In a six-month study of 120 pediatric patients, biosensor alerts identified 82 percent of nocturnal hypoglycemic episodes before symptomatic onset. Parents reported higher confidence and reduced anxiety regarding overnight glucose control. Integration of biosensor data with insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring may further enhance pediatric safety and autonomy.
