Abstract

Algorithms that pair continuous glucose monitoring with individualized meal feedback may optimize dietary choices for glycemic control. In a randomized crossover study of adults with prediabetes and early type 2 diabetes, a personalized nutrition algorithm reduced mean 2-hour postprandial glucose excursions by 18 percent compared with a standard low-glycemic index plan. Participants maintained high adherence using mobile prompts and weekly coach reviews. Quality-of-life scores improved without changes in total caloric intake. Broader implementation will require interoperability with electronic health records and automated meal logging.
