Predictors of Postpartum Remission After Gestational Diabetes: A Multicenter Cohort

Abstract

Postpartum metabolic trajectories after gestational diabetes vary widely across individuals. In a multicenter cohort with standardized 6–12 week oral glucose tolerance testing, remission was associated with lower antepartum fasting glucose, earlier diagnosis, and breastfeeding duration. Weight retention and sleep disruption predicted persistence of dysglycemia. Risk stratification combining clinical variables with simple laboratory markers can guide follow-up intensity and early prevention programs.
